Man fatally shot while leaving friend’s home in Fort Lauderdale Updated:  Tags:  Fort Lauderdale police responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 4:50 a.m. at 630 NW 10th Terrace. Authorities said the victim, identified as Brett Shell, 34, of Pompano Beach, was walking through the parking lot to his car after leaving his friend’s home when someone began shooting at him. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Shell dead at the scene. His father told Local 10 News that Shell was a loving father to three children.
