Prayagraj: There has been a recent surge in the number of youngsters joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with around 3,000 engineering, management and postgraduate students linking with the organization in the region.
The rush is being credited to Nidhi Sangrah Abhiyan the 45-day fund collection campaign for Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya conducted by RSS and its highly impressive management.
RSS volunteers, who fanned out to collect funds, inspired many and the trust shown by people who gave donations to them readily cast lasting impression.
As a result, around 3,000 youngsters, including engineering, management and post-graduation students have joined the RSS in Kashi region in the past one and half months.
Apart from personnel of paramilitary forces, around 100 swimmers were also deployed on ghats to keep a strict vigil and tackle any incident.
PRAYAGRAJ: The annual religious congregation Magh Mela came to a close at the Sangam with lakhs of devotees taking the holy dip on the last snan on Mahashivratri on Thursday. This also ended the 57 days of austerity and spirituality on the banks of the Ganga.
The Magh Mela, which began on January 14 amidst strict implementation of Covid-19 protocol, also witnessed mammoth Covid sampling drive, screening at entry gates and millions of devotees and pilgrims arriving on the banks of Ganga from different parts of the country to seek salvation and earn punya.

PRAYAGRAJ: A whopping number of over 6.88 lakh candidates have applied for the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (UPPSC) most prestigious recruitment exam Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination-2021, commonly known as PCS-2021 and Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF)/Range Forest Officer (RFO) Services Examination-2021.
As per the annual calendar of recruitment exams issued by the commission for 2021, the PCS (Preliminary)-2021 is scheduled to be held on June 13.
“Over 6.88 lakh candidates have applied for PCS-2021. Online applications for 400 posts of PCS-2021 and 16 posts of ACF/RFO Recruitment Exam-2021 were accepted from February 5 till March 5,” informed media in-charge of UPPSC Pushkar Srivastava.
