Teachers with the Billings Education Association are already thinking about next school year. At this point, most teachers want to go back to in-person instruction. We as teachers are hoping that we have a little bit of voice when it comes to going back to the classroom, teaching remote and what our schedule is going to look like, President of Billings Education Association Doug Robison said.
Robison says a big challenge for teaching students online was the lack of time to plan for it. Some teachers didn t get training for it, or didn t know how many students would be in their class until the start of the school year.

Linda Gregory didnât set out to lead the Green Valley Recreation Camera Club through a global pandemic, but after 15 years of membership and operating as the club s de facto âSummer President,â the opportunity sort of fell into her lap.
âWe usually elect officers in April, and at the time, nobody wanted to take on all that responsibility,â Gregory said. âWhen we met again back in November, I just decided to continue on into the next year.â
The inconsistency in teacher training, knowledge and skills is huge. ASD currently has made enormous steps in training and holding teachers accountable in the area of reading. But there is resistance from teachers. Academic freedom does not mean a teacher can teach whatever curriculum they wish to teach. Teachers have to be accountable for academic achievement for the students in their classrooms. I also think we should look at returning “modified primary” to schools where students not ready for first grade can have an additional year. If a child does not read by third grade it is very unlikely they ever will. Social promotion in K-2 must stop. All in-service days and continuing educational credits given should be with the above requirement in mind.

Le khalife général des mourides s est encore distingué grâce à son rôle de régulateur social. Serigne Mountakha Mbacké a fait annuler la manifestation du Mouvement de défense de la démocratie (M2D) qui était prévue demain samedi à la place de l Obélisque.
Selon des sources de Seneweb, le patriarche de Darou Miname a dépêché ce vendredi deux délégations à Dakar. Et l une d elles est parvenue à convaincre le M2D qui a décidé de suspendre toutes les manifestations jusqu à nouvel ordre.
