JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER THE U.S. HIT THE DEVASTATING MARK OF 400,000 CORONAVIRUS DEATHS, THE CDC PREDICTS THAT ANOTHER 100,000 FATALITIES WILL COME BY MID-FEBRUARY. HOWEVER, THE AGENCY’S NEW LEADER, DR. ROCHELLE WALENSKY, SAYS HEALTHIER DAYS LIE AHEAD. AS ONE OF HIS FIRST ACTIONS IN OFFICE, BIDEN INSTALLED A MASK MANDATE ON FEDERAL PROPERTY AND HAS ENCOURAGED STATES TO FOLLOW SUIT. The next regular meeting of the School Committee is Feb. 11, but it was clear from the public comments at the start of last week's meeting that some in the community are unwilling to wait until the middle of next month for a revision to the MOU that allowed classes to begin in September.
