After yet another (but thankfully mini) hiatus and with a new episode on tonight, let’s do a recap of the show’s outing from two weeks ago.
Now that Lucy and Jackson are officially P2s it’s time, as the title of the episode suggests, for some “new blood” to enter the fold of Mid-Wilshire.
Firstly we have Larry “The Badger” Macer, who is essentially a manifestation of all of Grey’s worst fears when Nolan joined up: a middle aged man on his version of an “eat prey love” reinvention. This, turns out, is a character that merely amounts to a cameo by Greg Grunberg, seeing that Larry washes out before even roll call properly starts, after his gun goes off in the room.
With a new episode on tonight, let’s do a recap of the show’s outing last week.
People complaining last week that Jackson and Lucy would have been right there to help Nolan clean up after everything must have been very satisfied with the teaser this week, as that’s how the episode starts up: our three Rookies hanging and being there for one another. It’s a short sweet sequence where they talk about what’s been going the last few days: Nolan is held back, Lopez is moving up resulting to Jackson being assigned a new T.O. and Lucy is to be dreading a new “Tim Test” because he’s been too quiet lately. Those worries get put on the backburner though as by the end of the teaser we find out her car has been stolen.
Nolan: It s okay, we re just arresting him for burglary for stealing this backpack.
James: What, you need four cops for a kid stealing a bag?
Stanton: Yo, my man, back off.
Nolan: It s It s okay. It s okay. Look, calling for backup is simply protocol. We don t know if the suspect is armed. Better safe than sorry.
James:
Stanton: You want us to stick around?
Nolan: No, uh, we re cool.
James: I m not cool. Are you?
West: Look, this guy just made one of your neighbors a victim. Okay? He s going in. Simple.
James:
It s never that simple. Alright? If the city wasn t spending 50% of its budget on cops, then maybe he would have gotten a leg up instead of the short end of the stick.
