As Black History Month is winding down, it’s still not too late to learn more about African Americans in the history of the United States.
According to New York Upstate, Each day throughout the month of February, The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum, has been presenting short videos that address the contributions and struggles of African-Americans throughout the history of this country.

The series of videos is entitled “Black Lives Matter“. The videos are free of charge and the museum has presented a new one each day. Even though the month is almost over, there is still time to learn more about black history.
In this inaugural Women and the Kemper Public Lecture, Valentina Castellani, former director of New York s Gagosian Gallery, will discuss the rise of blockbuster exhibitions in commercial art galleries, focusing on the Gagosian exhibitions Picasso: Mosqueteros and Piero Manzoni: A Retrospective.
The program will include live closed captions.
Free, but registration is required (link to come).
A recording of the program will become available on the Museum’s YouTube channel in the weeks following.

The year’s shortest month is winding down and no matter what your interests, you should be able to find something to do this weekend.
Live music will be at Coleman’s and Sharkey’s on Friday night, there will be cardboard sled races at Skaneateles Ski Hill, and you can be a judge at Ithaca’s Chili Cook-Off.
