(PTI File) Hyderabad: At least seven Covid-19 patients at the King Koti Hospital, a dedicated Covid facility of the state government, were feared to have lost their lives from lack of adequate oxygen supply on Sunday. The oxygen tank at the hospital began showing low pressure starting 3 pm on Sunday. An oxygen tanker truck that was to arrive by then to refill the hospital tank was delayed as the driver reportedly lost his way near Jadcherla.

Representational image  |  Photo Credit: IANS Warangal: A 53-year-old man, who was earlier associated with the TDP, was killed on Thursday at Jangaon near here over a land dispute, police said. The assailants had followed and attacked him with axes when he was on his morning walk. The deceased got a favourable judgment in a land dispute case on Wednesday, they said. He had served as a municipal councillor on behalf of TDP earlier, but had no political affiliation in recent times, police added.

Telangana’s TDP leader murdered during morning walk By IANS|   Posted by Minhaj Adnan  |   Published: 28th January 2021 1:11 pm IST Hyderabad: A leader of the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was hacked to death by unidentified persons in district headquarters town of Jangaon in Telangana on Thursday, police said. Police said Puli Swamy, 53, a former councillor of Jangaon Municipality, was attacked by two men wielding axes while he was on a morning walk near Social Welfare Residential School on the Hyderabad-Warangal Highway. Jangaon is around 85 km from Hyderabad. An old rivalry over a land dispute is said be have led to the murder. A local court had recently delivered a judgment in Puli Swamy’s favour.

The reports had stated that after fleeing the quarantine centre, she boarded a train from Delhi to Visakhapatnam along with her son on December 21. Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, Minister for Health, told reporters that she had been tested positive in antigen and RT-PCR test for COVID-19 conducted at the Delhi International Airport. “She is stable and asymptomatic whereas her son, 22, who travelled with her from Delhi, is tested negative,” he said ruling out that she had any sign of new variant of Coronavirus found in the United Kingdom. Girl washed away in Neeva dies Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old girl named Surekha, of Velkur village of GD Nellore mandal, was washed away in the swirling waters of the Neeva river on the outskirts of Chittoor on Sunday, and her body was later retrieved by the police. According to the police, the girl, along with her friends, had gone to the banks of the river in their village, 8 km from Chittoor, to wash clothes. When a garment slipped away from the bund, the girl got into the gushing waters to retrieve it. However, she was washed away in the flow in full view of her friends. Though a couple of villagers attempted to rescue the girl, it was of no avail. A couple of hours later, her body was traced and was shifted to Government District Hospital in Chittoor for an autopsy. A case was registered.
