Sunday school classes at our All Saints Anglican Church, Oke-Bola, Ikole Ekiti, were interesting sessions, in those days. The Sunday school teachers, mostly our “Eskis Mas”-female teachers in our primary schools- were equally fantastic. They entered the classes asking questions. “Tani Abrahamu”-who is Abraham? We would respond in a chorus: “Abramu ni ore Olorun, ohun si ni apere igbagbo”-Abramu is a friend of God and an example of faith. They taught us many stories from the Bible, and, at the end of each class, they would ask which lesson we could infer from the stories. For instance, on the story of how Jonathan saved David from being killed by Saul, Jonathan’s father and king of Israel and how, when David became king, he looked for Jonathan’s lame son, Mephibosheth, and made him to eat at the king’s table, we would be asked: “kini itan yi ko wa”-what lesson does this story teach us? Answer: “o ko wa pe ki a ma mo oore”-it teaches us to be appreciati

Nigeria became a terra cognita, not only for politics of self-deceit, but particularly for armed banditry and insurrection under President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB), an Army General. More unfortunate too, the armed banditry has become recidivist in character while the insurrection by the Boko Haramists is increasingly being overshadowed by the Fulani herdsmen-farmers conflict. And perhaps most unfortunately, PMB has not been able to nip the problems of insecurity in the bud.
His inability to contain the brutality meted out by the bandits and insurgents to the good people of Nigeria has been traced to many suspicions: allegations of PMB not being in charge of the governance of Nigeria, his politics of nepotism, purported Islamic cum Fulanisation agenda, medical unfitness, and incompetence. Like Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, PMB was a one-time military Head of State and a one-time elected President of Nigeria. He is currently in his second presidential term.

In a statement titled, ‘A Call for Release of Leah Sharibu,’ which Adeboye signed and issued on Friday, he directed all pastors in the RCCG all over the world to intensify their prayers for Sharibu’s release.
The clergyman also urged parents to use their influence to ensure Sharibu and other children in captivity were released.
