The small doll, called Little Audrey, had been given to Captain Lionel Bill Bellamy by his then girlfriend Audrey before he set out for Normandy in 1944 with the Royal Armoured Corps. She was adopted by the troop and was attached to Capt Bellamy s Cromwell tank s searchlight to the right of the turret and became a good luck charm - and they needed her.

1/1 THE Tank Museum is set to open its new World War Two exhibition with a live, online tour. Anyone can tune in on YouTube on Thursday, May 13 at 11am to get a first glimpse of the WW2: War Stories exhibition. During the tour, museum curator David Willey and Richard Cutland – from sponsors World of Tanks – will highlight stories behind the exhibition. There will also be live interviews with veterans who actually used some of the 57 vehicles on display. Mr Willey said: There has been a lot happening behind the scenes during the latest lockdown and it includes the new exhibition which is the culmination of three years’ planning.

Moore had contracted COVID-19 just two day ago. Moore came to the attention of the larger public in April last year before his 100th birthday when he decided to support the efforts of the National Health Service by walking around his garden with the help of a frame and eventually helped raise 38.9 million pounds ($53 million).
