Thus far, 39,337 British Columbians have tested positive for the coronavirus, with a quarter of these cases considered active at 9,329. Another 11,526 people are being closely monitored by public health officials after exposure to a known COVID-19 case. Three-hundred-and-thirty-eight residents are being treated for the coronavirus in hospital, including 75 in intensive care, 28,448 people are considered recovered.
A new outbreak has been declared at the Courtyard Terrace, a long-term care facility in Burnaby, and two others have been declared over: at Vancouver’s Royal Ascot Care Centre and at one of the acute-care units at Burnaby Hospital.
There are now 65 active outbreaks in B.C.’s health-care system.
