Oyetola emerges Business Day Newspaper Governor of The Year

Says he’s humbled by recognition
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun was on Thursday confered with the Business Day Newspaper Best Governor of the Year 2020 Award.
The award was presented to him at a colourful event held both virtually and physically at the Congress Hall of Trancorp Hilton, Abuja, by the revered emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who was the Royal Father of the Day.
At the event, where former Nigeria’s Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, spoke as the Special Guest of Honour, Oyetola’s emergence, according to the organisers, followed the assessment carried out by its 2020 States Competitiveness and Good Governance Awards Committee.

Eminent Nigerians including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka; former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku and public affairs commentator, Mr Odia Ofeimun, are guests at this year’s virtual Obafemi Awolowo Lecture.
This year’s lecture, in memory of the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, entitled “Whither Nigeria,” will hold as a webinar on Saturday, March 6, 20201, the birthday of the sage, at 6:00 p.m. (West African Time).
While Professor Soyinka will be the chairman of the event, Chief Anyaoku will be the Special Guest of Honour with the Sultan of Sokoto as the Royal Father of the event. Mr Ofeimun will be the Guest Speaker.

Badagry (Lagos State), Jan. 30, 2021 Badagry Prime newspaper in Lagos State is planning a town hall meeting where it expects readers to assess its performance in its 15 years of community journalism.
The Publisher, Mr Felix Godonu, made the disclosure in a press release on Saturday in Badagry, Lagos State.
According to the publisher, the event will take place in April with the theme: “Have We Served You Well?”
Godonu said that activities line up for the 15th anniversary celebration include awards to honour business owners and other organisation that have taken Badagry as their home.
“Awards will also be given to best performed political office holders in Badagry Division.
