BAGHDAD/AMMAN-US diplomats and troops in Iraq and Syria have been targeted in rocket and drone attacks, US and Iraq officials said on Wednesday. These include at least 14 rockets fired over a 24-hour period that hit an Iraqi air base hosting US forces. Two US service personnel at the base were wounded.
The injuries of the two people at the Ayn al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq were minor, said coalition spokesman US Army Colonel Wayne Marotto. The rockets landed on the base and its perimeter. Earlier, he said that three people had been wounded.

Baghdad, July 6 : Six Katyusha rockets hit a military air base housing US-led coalition forces in Iraq s western province of Anbar, a security source said. The rockets landed on Monday afternoon at the edge of Ayn al-Asad Air Base in Anbar province, without knowing the casualties, the source told Xinhua news agency.
Meanwhile, an initial report tweeted by Wayne Marotto, spokesman of the international coalition forces in Iraq, confirmed the attack but said the air base perimeter was hit by three rockets at 2.45 p.m. without casualties.

BAGHDAD, June 6 (Xinhua) Two drones were shot down on Sunday over a military airbase housing U.S.-led coalition forces in Iraq s western province of Anbar, the Iraqi military said.
The attack took place at 12:30 a.m. local time (2130 GMT Saturday), and the air defense system at Ayn al-Asad Air Base intercepted and shot down the drones, the media office of the Iraqi Operations Command said in a brief statement.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Ayn al-Asad Air Base, formerly known as al-Qadisiyah, is located some 190 km northwest of Iraq s capital Baghdad.
