IONIA TWP. Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in the Feb. 18 house fire in Ionia Township.
Judy Brooks, 66, was found dead inside the home, according to the Ionia Department of Public Safety.
A Facebook fundraiser was created for Brooks’ funeral expenses. It has raised $1,175 as of Monday, Feb. 22.
Ionia DPS Director Troy Thomas told The Sentinel-Standard on Monday the origin of the fire was in the south wall of the residence.
An exact cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time, Thomas said. The Ionia DPS and state fire marshal are investigating the cause.

IONIA COUNTY, MI Police arrested a 37-year-old Ionia man after finding him hiding in a home, not long after a girl who lived there reported hearing someone trying to break in.
Travis Michael Minier was arraigned in Ionia County District Court on charges of home invasion, possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin.
A girl who lived in a house in the 3900 block of East Stage Road in Ionia Township called her mother about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 to report that someone was “ripping on the door handle” and trying to get in. She was alone in the home.
