Three of President Joe Biden’s nominees to the United States Postal Service (USPS) governing board were approved by a Senate committee on Wednesday, setting up a future vote on their appointments by the entire Senate.
Ron Stroman, who formerly served as a deputy postmaster general, Amber McReynolds, head of the National Vote at Home Institute, and Anton Hajjar, who once served as general counsel of the American Postal Workers Union, were all forwarded for consideration to a full vote of the Senate by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which voted without debate on the matter of their nominations following their testimonies.

A Senate committee on Wednesday approved President Joe Biden’s three nominees to the governing board of the U.S. Postal Service.
The nominees Ron Stroman, a former deputy postmaster general; Amber McReynolds, who leads the non-profit National Vote at Home Institute; and Anton Hajjar, the former general counsel of the American Postal Workers Union now need to be confirmed by the full Senate before taking positions on the board.
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved the nominees without debate. Last week, Stroman, McReynolds and Hajjar appeared before the panel for a hearing in which they stressed the need to restore confidence in the Postal Service with a clear plan to improve delivery service.
