PESHAWAR: A single-member Peshawar High Court bench on Monday confirmed the pre-arrest bail of Supreme Court Bar Association president Abdul Lateef Afridi, who was charged by the counter-terrorism department (CTD) with abetting the killing of an anti-terrorism court’s judge and his three family members last month.
Justice Mohammad Nasir Mehfooz accepted Lateef Afridi’s bail plea after the completion of arguments by both sides.
The petitioner was given an interim pre-arrest bail by the court on Apr 7.

The Swabi Police claimed on Thursday to have arrested two main shooters who of Swat Anti-Terrorism Court Justice Aftab Afridi, his wife and two children on April 4.
According to Swabi DPO Shoaib Khan, both the killers - identified as Muhammad Zakir Shah and Shehzad - had opened indiscriminate fire on the judge’s car near Ambar Interchange in Swabi, brutally martyring the four people.
“Zakir has confessed his crime before the court,” the DPO said, adding that during interrogation, the accused also gave up names of more accomplices.

Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with Justice Aftab Afridi and his family members murder, police officials said Thursday, taking the number of suspects apprehended to five.
A police official said the suspects, both hailing from Peshawar, had allegedly opened fire on the deceased judge s car.
Unidentified gunmen had killed Justice Afridi as he was on his way from Peshawar to Islamabad on April 4 at the Ambar Interchange on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway in Swabi district.
