Bombay HC Reserves Judgement in Sonu Sood Vs BMC Case FOLLOW US ON: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday reserved it s judgement after hearing lengthy submissions from both sides in the Bollywood actor Sonu Sood versus the BMC case. Sood had filed an appeal challenging a Civil Court’s order that didn t grant him protection from BMC s notice that was issued to him alleging unauthorised development on his residential property at Juhu in Mumbai today. The municipal corporation was represented by senior advocate Anil Sakhare while Sood was represented byadvocate Amogh Singh. Advocate Sakhare began by pointing out that the reply had been already filed. To this, Advocate Singh stated that the reply brought out new facts that were not brought out earlier before the lower court.

Sonu Sood MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday urged the Bombay high court to dismiss actor Sonu Sood s petition seeking to restrain the civic body from carrying out demolition at his property here. Sood suppressed the facts that demolition had been carried out at the building for illegal construction earlier too and he had no license to run a hotel there, the BMC said. The actor moved the HC after the Dindoshi City Civil Court refused to restrain the civic body from taking action against alleged unauthorized alterations at the building which stands in Juhu area. Sood converted six floors of the residential building into a hotel without permission, the BMC has alleged.

Sonu Sood, File image The Bombay High Court on Monday extended till 13 January a civil court order granting interim protection to actor Sonu Sood from coercive action by the BMC against the alleged illegal structural changes made by him in a residential building in suburban Juhu without permission. Sood last week approached the HC, challenging a notice issued against him by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in October last year and an order passed by a civil court in December dismissing his suit against the BMC s action.
