New Delhi, May 3 : The Chhattisgarh government has said that the resource constraint didn t deter it to tackle Covid surge and despite being a small state, it gives a tough fight to overcome Coronavirus crisis.
The government in a statement said that free vaccination will be provided to 1.34 crore people in the age group of 18-44 in the state. The state government has demanded 25 lakh doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines for this.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 30 (ANI): In view of the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines, Chhattisgarh Chief MinisterBhupesh Baghel has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give priority to the socially and economically weaker sections of the society in vaccination.
The Chief Minister claimed that there is a shortage of vaccines and due to that, it is imperative that socially weaker and economically weaker sections should be vaccinated first.
In a letter to PM Modi, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister suggested that on-site registration should also be also made available for this category so that no one is deprived of vaccination due to failure to register online.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 27 (ANI) Former MP and senior Congress leader Karuna Shukla died of COVID-19 in Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals, Raipur during the wee hours of Tuesday.
Shukla, the niece of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 after she had tested positive for infection.
The last rites will be performed today in Balodabazar.

COVID vaccines: Health Ministry issues clarification; says Union govt s procured vaccine to be given free to states

A day after Chief Ministers raised about price uniformity of the vaccine to be administered from May 1, the
health ministry has issued clarification on the issue. It is clarified that the Govt of India s procurement price for both #COVID19 vaccines remains at Rs 150 per dose. GOI procured doses will continue to be provided TOTALLY FREE to States, said a tweet by the Health Ministry.
