Jordan’s King Abdullah broke his silence Wednesday to tell his nation that the worst political crisis in decades sparked by an alleged plot involving his half-brother Prince Hamzah was over.

Jordan s Prince Hamzah pledged loyalty to the king on Monday as the monarch accepted mediation over a rift within the royal family that saw the prince placed under house arrest, the palace said.
The government has accused Hamzah, an ex-crown prince and half-brother of King Abdullah II, of a wicked plot and involvement in a seditious conspiracy to destabilise the kingdom s security .
Hamzah, detained along with at least 16 others, had earlier struck a defiant tone saying he had been placed under house arrest inside his Amman palace, but insisting he would not obey orders restricting his movement.
Jordan s Prince Hamzah has pledged allegiance to King Abdullah II following mediation talks to resolve the family feud which saw the senior royal placed under house arrest after being accused of plotting a coup.
The talks, announced by the palace on Tuesday, successfully de-escalated one of the most serious political crises in the kingdom in decades.
Jordanian authorities had accused the former crown prince of being involved in a malicious plot, along with two senior Jordanian officials, leading to the king placing his half-brother under house arrest for allegedly conspiring with foreign supporters to destabilise Jordan, a key Western ally.
