Jaipur, April 16 : In view of the rising Covid-19 cases, the Rajasthan government has announced a weekend curfew in the state from Friday evening to Monday morning.
The state on Thursday reported a record 6,658 fresh Covid cases and 33 deaths.
According to officials, all restrictions will remain the same as lockdown under the weekend curfew.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made the announcement late on Thursday night after chairing a core group meeting and shared the information on his Twitter handle.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made the announcement late on Thursday night after chairing a core group meeting and shared the information on his Twitter handle.
Gehlot said that curfew has been clamped in the state from Friday evening at 6 pm to Monday morning till 5 am.
Many states including Maharashtra, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have reported a Covid-19 vaccine crunch and urged the Centre to immediately provide them with more jabs

320 doses of Covaxin - Bharat Biotech s coronavirus vaccine - have been reported missing from a cold-storage facility at a government hospital in Rajasthan s Jaipur.
The HB Kanwatia Hospital, which caters primarily to the nearby working-class neighbourhood of Shastri Nagar, said its stock of 200 doses was checked and accounted for on Sunday.
The following day - Monday - a shipment of 489 doses was received. However, when stocks were re-checked the hospital found 320 doses were missing.
Security guards were posted outside the cold storage unit in which the vaccines were stored.

Students of Classes 8, 9 and 11 to be promoted without exams After the CBSE announced cancellation of its Class 10 examinations, the Rajasthan government on Wednesday decided to postpone the State Secondary Education Board’s examinations for Classes 10 and 12. The Himachal Pradesh government, too, postponed the ongoing State Board exams for Classes 10 and 12.
The State Board was also directed to promote the students of Classes 8, 9 and 11 to the next Class.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took the decision after discussions with Minister of State for Education Govind Singh Dotasra in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infections during the second wave of the pandemic in India.
