KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) has assured of sufficient supply of essential items for the festive season and other food marketed under the Aidilfitri 2021 Farmers’ Market programme nationwide.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, in a statement, said a total of 85 marketing outlets of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) were involved in the programme comprising 59 Farmers’ Markets, 23 Permanent Farmers’ Markets and three MyFarm Outlets that would conclude tomorrow (May 12).
He said the government’s decision to give operating permission to FAMA marketing outlets such as the Aidilfitri Farmers’ Market was to ensure that consumers continue to receive fresh supplies in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration.

KUALA LUMPUR: After over two months without an official press conference, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today returned to provide a live daily update on the country’s Covid-19 situation.
It was a moment many were waiting for, as since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago, Dr Noor Hisham and his team have held a briefing almost every day, with the last being on March 4.
They came before midnight
Mansah recalled the incident in which authorities came to his shop at around 11:30pm, questioning why his shop was still open.
He said that at the time, the premise was already closed, except for a small door which was opened to allow for his relatives to come in and added that the grill to his premises was already shut but the four officers still issued him the RM50,000 fine.
I had closed the shop with the main door locked, but at 10 pm my wife’s brother came to visit the shop and at that time we were chatting in the shop. The small door was opened because there were small children coming in and out, not for customers. After that I was shocked when the policemen came and asked why the shop was still operating.
