In an interview yesterday on
The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, actor Ethan Suplee detailed his long journey to healthier living, and revealed that he struggles at times to appreciate how far he s come.
Looking back at photos of himself at his heaviest, Suplee opened up about some of the negative feelings that he still deals with. It s incredibly satisfying, but look, he said. The reality is that I have mental illness and I don t look at myself and think, God I look great. I see nothing but negative stuff every day and I try to convince myself.
Asked when he first started to experience feelings of body dysmorphia, Suplee recalled going on a diet at five years old and hearing people tell him that the way he looked was wrong. I wasn t obese at five. I was a chubby five year old, but I was super active, he said. I wasn t eating junk food all day long.
