BRINGING PEOPLE CLOSER
AMRITSAR: Waiting for over a year and a half to marry her love who she found on Facebook, a Karachi resident, Suman Rantilal, has appealed to the Indian government to give her special permission to cross the border on compassionate grounds, so she could start her married life in India.
“I am waiting to travel to India and marry Amit,” says Suman, while talking to TOI over the phone from Karachi on Friday.
Suman, a teacher by profession who is also pursuing an MPhil, says she has submitted her travel documents with the Indian high commission in Pakistan, but the visa had been denied on the grounds of Covid-19 as both countries had put a ban on cross-border travel.
