OPTAGE launches next-generation Android TV and Netflix services with AminoOS and Amino Engage powered Amigo 7X

| 26 February 2021 In a major boost for the CE provider, the Amazon Prime Video SVOD service has certified the Prime Video application across Amino’s Amigo 7X STBs. Amino’s pay-TV operator customers that have deployed Amigo 7X devices will now have the ability to provide their Amazon Prime subscribing customers with easy access to the Prime Video catalogue. The devices are powered by the Google-certified AminoOS software, which enables operators to deliver a customised and branded user interface while simplifying the integration of IPTV and OTT services. With Amino Engage, Amino’s cloud-based service management solution, operators also have access to a full suite of device management tools that manage and proactively support deployed Android TV devices and apps.

Cablenet rolls out Amigo 7XC Android TV STBs

| 24 February 2021 Cypriot comms provider Cablenet has begun to roll out Amigo 7XC Android TV set-top boxes to its cable and fibre customers. The AminoOS-powered Amigo 7XC hybrid STB forms part of Cablenet’s new set of next generation TV services. AminoOS provides an extended, enhanced and fully certified version of Android TV that is fully compatible with operators’ infrastructure and networks. Meanwhile, Amino’s SaaS platform, Amino Engage, provides a suite of open standards, across any network, while simplifying OTT app management. The Amigo 7XC uses Amino software to provide next-generation services that converge OTT and cable on Android TV. Amino says it provides a modern Android TV user experience for accessing linear or streaming content over hybrid networks, merging cable, multicast IPTV and OTT content with a single programme guide and modern UX.

Go Malta deploys Android TV Operator Tier platform and STBs, harnessing Amino technologies

Share on GO Malta, the quad-play service provider with 500,000 customers in Malta, is deploying an Android TV-based television offering that combines scheduled linear TV and streaming services. By updating its UI and integrating streaming apps, the company is confident it can give consumers more reasons to remain in its TV environment. The deployment harnesses several Amino technologies –  namely the Amigo 7X Android TV Operator Tier certified Ultra HD client device, AminoOS middleware and Amino Engage, the cloud-based service management solution for Android TV devices and apps. As with other Android TV Operator Tier deployments, GO Malta is using the design freedom within the specs to provide its own branding on the UX, and the remote control includes a customised GO button that takes viewers directly to the GO Malta experience. Amino has also enabled branded Android TV boot screens and launcher background images that are dynamically changed by the Amino Engage software.
