The closure, which commenced on April 9, is meant to allow for the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway. According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the 20-day traffic disruption will affect the section between Bunyala roundabout and the Nyayo Stadium roundabout.

Mr Haji joined Kenya’s provincial administration in 1960 as a district officer (DO) and rose through the ranks to become one of the country’s most powerful provincial commissioners. He retired from the provincial administration in 1998. In 2002, he was nominated to Parliament and in 2007, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Ijara Constituency on a Kenya African National Union (Kanu) ticket.

The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 92. Further, the ministry reported that 138 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
