LUCKNOW: Pilibhit became the fourth district in the state to become Covid-free after Aligarh, Kasganj and Shrawasti, according to the data of the state health department.
As many as 100 new cases and 183 recoveries were reported in the state in the last 24 hours. According to state bulletin, 31 other districts saw zero cases while only three – Lucknow (9), Varanasi (8) and Kanpur (6) – reported more than five cases. At least four persons died in the past 24 hours taking the total casualties to 22,693.
Additional chief secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said the state’s recovery rate had improved to 98.6%. Attributing UP’s success to the policy of ‘Trace, Test and Treat, he said the state was left with only 1,608 active cases.
