NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: The mega vaccination drive that was supposed to kick off from July 1 has now been put on hold till mid-July because there aren’t enough doses available.
For the past few days, the state has been getting only five to eight lakh doses daily, which are then distributed among all 75 districts. According to officials, in order to maintain the inoculation numbers recorded in June, the state will need about 20 lakh doses every day.
There is little likelihood of the cluster-based drive starting any time before July 15, senior officials have said. An internal message circulated on Friday by the additional chief secretary (health), Amit Mohan Prasad, to all districts also states the same.
