New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government made Aadhaar card and permanent residency certificate not mandatory for getting the COVID-19 vaccine for the age group between 18-44 years.
The Yogi Adityanath-led government issued new instructions to inoculate the citizens of the state stating that the Aadhaar and permanent residency certificate will not be mandatory for getting the jab. Vaccination will be administered after producing any proof of residence in UP.

UNNAO: Days after bodies of suspected COVID-19 patients washed up on the shores of the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, more have been found buried in the sand in Unnao.
A team of the local police is in the process of carrying out an inquiry and searches are being conducted for more bodies.

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a new order for the vaccination of those in the 18-44 age group and said that there will be no obligation to give Aadhaar details or permanent residency proof.
Those residing in Uttar Pradesh will now be able to get the jabs with any document of residency in the state. Both permanent and temporary residency will be accepted for the vaccination programme for the 18-44 age group.

Uttar Pradesh on Thursday recorded 17,775 fresh COVID-19 cases that pushed the infection count to 15,80,980, while 281 new fatalities took the death toll to 16,646 in the state, officials said.
