ULEMCo, Engv to develop Aussie hydrogen fuel biz
UK s ULEMCo has signed an MoU with Victoria-based Engv to develop a market for its hydrogen dual-fuel technology in Australia, it said on May 26.
“The scope of the agreement extends across Australia and into commercial vehicles, particularly heavy-duty applications like refuse collection, urban trucks, buses and prime movers,” the company said.
ULEMCo said by using zero-carbon hydrogen to displace diesel directly in the engine, its dual-fuel technology enables vehicle owners to reduce carbon emissions by up to 40%.
ULEMCo joins ENGV to develop Australian hydrogen fuel market
ULEMCo, the UK hydrogen fuel pioneer, has signed an MoU with ENGV of Australia to collaborate on developing a market for its hydrogen dual fuel technology.
The scope of the agreement extends across Australia and into commercial vehicles, particularly heavy-duty applications like refuse collection, urban trucks, buses and prime movers.
In the effort to transition to decarbonised transport, HGVs are some of the biggest contributors to CO
2 emissions, and yet at present there are very few realistic clean fuel alternatives available.
By using zero-carbon hydrogen to displace diesel directly in the engine, ULEMCo’s dual fuel technology H2ICED enables vehicle owners to reduce their carbon emissions by up to 40%, as well as offering a practical solution that is immediately available.
ULEMCo receives investment boost ULEMCo, the UK hydrogen fuel specialist, has announced the closure of a funding round of almost half a million pounds that will help to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen mobility technologies.
The equity investment has come from Equity Gap and Scottish Enterprise.
To date, ULEMCo has successfully converted large vehicles to run on hydrogen dual fuel, on hydrogen alone and in hydrogen fuel cells. The new funds will be used within the overall business plans to build ULEMCoâs capability to support customers in Scotland, where demand for the companyâs technology is accelerating. A number of cities are currently looking at hydrogen vehicle solutions to decarbonise their heavy duty utility vehicle fleets.
