CAMBRIDGE, MD. – In Cambridge, one staple restaurant is re-opening, but with a twist.
Jimmie and Sooks has served Dorchester County for over 12 years and is coming back with new members added to management.
Owners say, the scratch kitchen is rooted in family, love, and heart-felt home cooking.
Although the pandemic may have shut its doors, we’re told the new partnership not only saved the restaurant, but brought two cousins together continuing the legacy their grandmothers started.
“Actually some thing we both learned from our grandmothers is that we’re not afraid to roll up our sleeves, get in the trenches, and work hard,” said Owner Tammy Lynndee.

A pop-up art exhibition is set to launch in Carlisle.
The Carlisle Contemporary Arts Cooperative (CCA) exhibition will open at Pop up 29 on Scotland Road in Carlisle on Monday and will run until May 9.
Since the first lockdown in March last year, the temporary closure of the Old Fire Station left the CCA without a home for more than a year.
They have stayed together as a group and will be exhibiting for the second time at Pop Up 29 along with guests artists, Martin Evans, David Phillips, and Connie Dalton of Snorkeler Designs.
A CAMPAIGN has been launched to save an arts group which plays a vital role in supporting stroke survivors. The Creative Conversations group, which was previously supported by Prism Arts, has been a lifeline to those who have survived a stroke. Despite its best efforts to save the group, Prism Arts has been forced to remove its funding as it responds to the coronavirus pandemic. Prism Arts has since been involved in trying to raise alternative funding and has helped in the hunt for a new home for the arts group. Amanda Mudge, who has led the group for the last six years, is determined to save it.
