The city council is deciding what to do but the decision has been delayed.
“It is a big issue that does need a community wide effort.”
Residents are complaining of loud fights between cats, messes left behind and damage done to property. It’s not a new problem.
“This has been an ongoing issue on Arnold Street for 15 years,” said Petro Tolas, Mt. Pleasant city council member, “So that shows you how much has actually been done.”
At their last meeting, the city council tabled an ordinance that would cap the number of pets you can own and hold people responsible for feeding or maintaining cat populations.
