The smell of RoundUp is in the air again.
As summer fun abounds, it s hard to resist the temptation of keeping a manicured Kelly-green lawn, beds of perky flowers and well-kept shrubs. And city buildings across Green Bay would be considered an eyesore if left to become overgrown with blossoms, weeds and unruly hedges.
But conservationists and environmentalists in Brown County and surrounding areas have been thinking about policies and educational programs to preserve the expensive, 12-year cleanup of the Fox River, and many are looking toward regulating pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and other chemical-rich agriculture products that have long devastated natural ecosystems.

BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) â Brown Countyâs Racial Equity Committee came together for the first time Monday night. The committee is made up of board supervisors and community members. The overall goal is coming together to address racial equity in Northeast Wisconsin.
While Brown Countyâs Racial Equity committee meeting started as a chance for people to meet, members of the committee tells FOX 11 it is just the beginning. Of what they hope will bring change and equity to Brown County.
âThe county board of supervisors, as a full body thatâs not something we tried to get our hands around so it was time we engaged in a meaningful way with stakeholders,â said Amanda Chu, Brown County Board Supervisor and committee member.
