A family was displaced after a fire in Hazleton Wednesday afternoon.
Hazleton firefighters were sent to a home on Lincoln Street, between 12th and 13th streets at 1:24 p.m. and arrived minutes later to find a working fire in the kitchen.
Firefighters said it didnât take long for crews to extinguish the flames which appeared to be caused by a cooking incident. They were also able to contain the fire to the kitchen, preventing it from spreading elsewhere in the house.
Three adults and one dog were displaced. The fire department contacted the American Red Cross to assist them.

Fire erupted at a Hazle Twp. home Saturday night, causing extensive damage.
Firefighters were sent to 2538 Christine Road just before 7 p.m. after flames could be found coming from the rear of the bi-level building which is between Wedgewood Road and Beech Court in the Ridgewood section of the township.
Flames were visible from a second story side rear window at 7 p.m. and a few minutes later they engulfed a rear portion of the roof sending heavy, thick smoke into the cold 20-degree night.
Volunteer firefighters from Hazle Twp. Fire and Rescue set up their equipment and went to work after finding the flames lapping at the home.
