Emergency crews are at the scene of a single-vehicle accident that occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the southbound lane of Oakville Road (State Route 26) in Appomattox near the intersections of Kelly Creek Lane and Log Cabin Road.Â
Appomattox County Emergency Dispatch had originally reported a vehicle that overturned and was on fire at the location, and also reported an entrapment.Â
The vehicle had went over an embankment and sustained heavy damage. Traffic at the location is being slowed down by traffic control.Â
The Times Virginian is waiting to verify any further information made available in regard to the accident.Â
At the scene at the time of this report is the Appomattox Rescue Squad, Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department, Appomattox County Sheriff s Office and Virginia State Police.Â

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – The combined effort of multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in the seizure of thousands of dollars of meth and an arrest this week.
On Tuesday, the Central Virginia Drug and Gang Task Force executed multiple drug-related search warrants within Campbell County.
The Task Force is comprised of narcotics investigators with the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police.
