Belle Glade election: Three win commission seats With all six of the city s precincts reporting, Joaquin Almazan, Andrew Kenny Berry finished first in the races for three city commission seats. Almazan, vice president of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party s Hispanic Chamber, opposed Stephen Messam for Seat C. Incumbent Larry Underwood did not seek re-election.  Wilkerson, the incumbent in Seat B, faced a challenge from Robert C. Mitchell. Berry, senior pastor of Grace Fellowship Worship Center in Belle Glade, challenged incumbent Johnny Burroughs Jr. for Seat E. Boca Raton election: Two incumbents win Voters returned two incumbents to the City Council by comfortable margins.

Young, 38, currently holds the lead 595 with votes compared to 592 for Vaughn, 34. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Canvassing Board met Tuesday afternoon and again during the overnight hours Wednesday to canvass vote-by-mail ballot issues, according to a statement released by the village. The elections staff continued counting ballots until 2 a.m. Once the Elections Office has counted any provisional ballots and allowed for signature cures, the election either will be certified Thursday evening, or proceed to an automatic recount Friday.  Young, a representative for private clients in commercial real estate development and construction, and Vaughn, a 34-year-old risk management consultant, are vying to replace Mayor Abby Brennan, who is retiring at the end of her term.
