Former Baker Hughes site in Massillon for sale at $6 25 million

The Independent MASSILLON  A major chunk of industrial property that includes multiple buildings is up for sale on the city s southeast side. The former Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations site  built in 2013  has been listed at $6.25 million by Cleveland-based Colliers International real-estate company. The property  listed as owned by BJ Services on the Stark County Auditor s Office website  is visible from U.S. Route 30 and state Route 62. According to the real estate listing at www2.colliers.com, the land totals 108.8-acres and has three commercial buildings on the site, totaling more than 48,000 square feet at 3415 Millennium Blvd. SE. In July 2020, BJ Services filed for bankruptcy protection following a reduction in product demand and a cash crunch due to the COVID-19 crisis, according to a news release on the company s website www.bjservices.com.

Jackson BOE sends replacement levy to auditor

Patricia Faulhaber Suburbanite correspondent JACKSON TWP.  During the regular meeting on Dec. 12, the Jackson Local Schools Board of Education approved sending a resolution of necessity for a substitution emergency levy to the Stark County Auditor s Office to verify the millage and the amount the levy will generate and the cost to homeowners. The 5.7-mill levy will be placed on the May 2021 ballot. It is a replacement for a levy that is currently in place which expires in May. The substitution emergency levy would run for five years if passed by taxpayers. “The substitution levy will not generate any new taxes, it would replace the levy in place now,” said the district’s treasurer Linda Paris.
