Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 28 (ANI): The young singers of North Kashmir s Singhpora Pattan are working for the revival of the folk and classical forms of Kashmir s music by making folk albums.
With the help of some senior folk singers, the young artistes are making musical albums in a private studio and selling them in the local market.
Adil Manzoor, a young folk singer said, Folk music is our identity. We cannot let go of it. Due to the westernisation, the music formats including sufiyana and folk are losing popularity.

Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, on Friday organised a political meeting in Agege in violation of the coronavirus (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulations 2021 Act recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had in January signed the law in the exercise of his powers under Section 4 of the Quarantine Act.

Section 34 of the new law states that any offence under the regulation is punishable by a fine or a term of six months imprisonment or both.
Couple wounded in clash over family feud
Karachi
A couple were wounded during a clash over a family dispute in the Lyari neighbourhood on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Old Kumharwara within the limits of the Kalakot Police Station. The casualties were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medical treatment. The couple have been identified as Shahbaz Ali and his wife as Zareen, 25. An investigation is underway.
Separately, a woman and her daughter were injured during a clash that erupted over a family dispute in Shanti Nagar in Baldia Town. The mother and daughter were taken to the CHK for medical treatment. The woman has been identified as 62-year-old Mustaqeem, wife of Bashir Ahmed, and her daughter as 40-year-old Suraya. Police have registered a case and initiated an inquiry.
