KUPWARA: There are 78 inmates in Kupwara jail who have tested positive for Covid19, an official spokesman said. The information was revealed when Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tasleem Arif who is also the Chairperson of Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) and the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara.

Kupwara: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori and Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today conducted an extensive tour of Handwara subdivision, to take stock of Covid containment measures and review pace of developmental activities being carried out in the area.
The Chairman and the DC inspected Sub District Hospital(SDH) Langate and reviewed the facilities on ground. It was informed on the occasion that the SDH has been designated as Covid Hospital with 50 bed capacity for admission of mild Covid cases, who require low oxygen flow.
It was also informed that 25 beds are supported by 25 oxygen cylinders while as other 25 beds are supported by High Flow Concentrators with capacity of 10 litres per minute.
KUPWARA: The Sub District Hospital, Kupwara started with 100 beds and 30 more beds were added subsequently. The border district has lost 127 people as 1764 are actively fighting Covid19, right now.
“We have almost 93 Covid19 patients admitted in the hospital and on a routine we receive 15 patients on daily basis and an equal number of patients are discharged after recovery”, the Nodal Officer, Covid Hospital Kupwara, Dr Abdul Gani Dar. “The Oxygen plant recently installed in the Hospital provides 1000 litres of oxygen per minute and we further augment the continuous flow of oxygen to the Covid19 patients through bulk oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators.”
