South-east water crisis: We had potable water last during Mbakwe’s tenure Aba residents

Some residents of Aba, the commercial city of Abia have called on the state government to provide potable water for them.
Speaking during an interview with Vanguard, a resident in the area, who identified himself as Ambassador Darlington Kalu said that, the last time residents of Aba drank potable water from public tap was during the tenure of the late governor of old Imo State, Dr. Sam Mbakwe.

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie lkpeazu says the 30 Years Abia State Long Term Development Plan (ABSLTDP) 2020 – 2050, will offer a blueprint to sustainable economic growth and development in governance for succeeding administrations for many years to come.
Dr lkpeazu who stated this during the launch and public presentation of Abia State Long Term Development Plan held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, noted that if the development plan which his administration has already keyed into is seriously followed and sustained by subsequent administrations, the State will be a center of attraction and a reference point for other States yet to key into such programme.

The Abia State Government has launched a 30-year development plan with a an assurance that it will be sent to the House of Assembly for legislation.
Speaking at an occasion held at Michael Ọkpara Auditorium, Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the development plan would give room to consistency government projects as subsequent governments would sustain it when it has been legislated upon.
He said the plan, Abia State Long Term Development Plan (ABSLTDP), 2020 to 2050, is a roadmap for the development of the State.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, said virtually all segments of the State, were carried along in the plan.
