Masks will be optional in the Abingdon-Avon School District. The District 276 Board of Education voted unanimously to reject Governor J.B. Abingdon-Avon changing from outdoor graduation ceremony to indoors

May 14, 2021 With rain in the forecast for this weekend, the Abingdon-Avon School District #276 is making changes to graduation plans from an outdoor ceremony at the football field to an indoor one. Superintendent Dr. Mike Curry tells WGIL that the weather and changes to the COVID restrictions allow for the district to move the graduation ceremony scheduled for Sunday, May 16, from outdoors to indoors. “The weather was not in our favor for an outdoor graduation and at the time there were no limits. We had enough space that as many people could come as they wanted and in a mask-free environment at the time, being outside. But we have pivoted to inside.”
