Giovanni Ferrero, who studied marketing in Annville for several months in 1980-81, is, according to recent reports, worth more than $30 billion. That’s because Giovanni is the son of Maria Franca Fissolo and Michele Ferrero, the latter of whom invented Nutella in Italy in 1964 – the same year Giovanni, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, was born in Farigliano, Italy.
According to EuropeanCEO.com, Nutella is one of Italy’s biggest exports, and a jar of the nutty goodness is sold every 2.5 seconds.

LONDON â A shooting that occurred in Laurel County early Wednesday morning is being investigated by Laurel County Sheriff s Office.
The shooting happened at a residence off Court Road, approximately 2 miles south of London at approximately 4:10 a.m.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a male subject identified as Brian R. Smith, age 44, of Court Road, London with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Smith was airlifted from London- Corbin Airport to UK Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
Smith refused to cooperate with Sheriff s investigators concerning the circumstances of the shooting, the Laurel County Sheriff s Office said in a press release on Wednesday.

The COVID-19 pandemic might have slowed down business openings and construction but it certainly hasn’t stopped them.
A number of housing developments are planned in Harrisburg, Susquehanna Township, Hampden Township, East Pennsboro Township and throughout the midstate.
And stores including REI Co-op, PaulB Mechanicsburg, Five Below and TJ Maxx are all opening new locations in central Pennsylvania this year.
And three companies have plans to open multiple locations in the region: Shiny Shell CarWash, Xfinity and Pet Supplies Plus.
Other new locations include a childcare center, a hospital, newly built medical offices, a doggie daycare, restaurants, hotels, an indoor trampoline park and more.

In terms of relative comparisons, the current figure of 299 new COVID-19 cases over the last 14 days per 100,000 residents is 82% lower than Lebanon County’s figures one month ago and 73% lower compared to 14 days ago. The current count of 299 new cases over the last 14 days per 100,000 residents is 15% higher than the all-time high this spring, 261, which occurred on April 21.
