4 drown, 3 missing as two boats capsize

KHAR: Four people drowned and three went missing when two boats capsized in Raghgan dam in Bajaur tribal district.
Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Alam said that that the two boats capsized in Raghgan dam at around 6:30pm on the first day of Eidul Azha. He said that eight people were rescued.
The official said that a boat capsised in the dam and another boat while trying to rescue the people also sank. He said that the local people launched the rescue efforts on a self-help basis and later the officials of the Rescue 1122 also arrived to take part in the search operation.

MARDAN: Four gamblers were arrested in the Mardan city on Wednesday, while the police have rounded up more than 400 people over violation of Corona SOPs during the last several days.
A police spokesman said that the arrestees identified as Sabz Ali, Anwar Zeb, Lal Bahadur and Sardar, were busy in playing cards when raided by the cops. The police also seized the money on bet. Meanwhile, the spokesman said that on the directives of District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan, as many as 400 people have been arrested and 323 FIRs lodged over violations of Covid SOPs in the district.
Fallen members of Levies & Khassadars to get shuhada package

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to give shuhada package to the families of members of the Levies and Khassadars of ex-tribal areas who had embraced martyrdom in the war against terrorism.
Similarly, it has also been decided to upgrade the posts of Malakand Levies from grade-5 to grade-7.
The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to discuss the issues of Levies and Khassadar of erstwhile Fata.
Provincial Minister Anwar Zeb, MPA Mohammad Shafique Afridi, Inspector General of Police Sanaullah Abbasi, Secretary Home Ikramullah, and other relevant officials attended the meeting, said an official handout.
