In the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak at an aerospace company in Arnprior, Ont., Renfrew County s health unit is expressing concern about a worrying trend of positive cases in workplaces.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is currently testing all employees at Arnprior Aerospace Inc., after declaring an outbreak that involves at least four positive cases among the firm s workforce.
All the positive cases involve variants of concern, according to Dr. Robert Cushman, acting medical officer of health for the region.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that Arnprior Aerospace Inc. meets the provincial guideline for the declaration of a workplace outbreak, with four employees to date who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) with the potential for more cases to follow.

RCDHU is working closely with Arnprior Aerospace Inc. to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and the public, according to a release issued Sunday evening.

If you are a high risk contact:
You MUST self-isolate and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days. Do NOT return to work, school or child care, in-person;
Immediately self-isolate and visit rcvtac.ca to schedule a test or call Renfrew County Virtual Triage Assessment Centre (RCVTAC) at 1-844-727-6404 to arrange for testing. You must book an appointment for testing immediately and then again 10 days after exposure.
If test result is negative, continue 14-day isolation because of exposure and because COVID-19 could have been developing (incubating) at time of test;
If test result is positive, continue to self-isolate and you will be contacted by RCDHU

B.C.-based cannabis company Tilray is seeking discussions with Health Canada about the rules governing cannabis beverages, as well as equivalencies with other cannabis products, which became legal in Canada in 2019.
On Monday, Tilray announced the completion of its deal with Aphria to become “a leading cannabis-focused consumer-packaged-goods company.” According to the news release on the company website, it wants to “have a complete portfolio of cannabis 2.0 products to strengthen its leadership position.”
Meanwhile, the Association Québecoise de l’industrie du cannabis is also seeking discussions with the government about topics that include medical-grow licences, additional oversight programs, development of a marketing and branding regime, and the application of excise tax on medical cannabis.
