JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater bowlers split their matches on Thursday afternoon with Jackson Northwest at Jax 60 Lanes as the Cardinals girls squad won 29-1 but the Coldwater boys lost a hard fought match to the Mounties 18-12.
The Northwest girls squad only had three bowlers. Coldwater won both regular games 893-394 and 845-445 and took totals 1738-839. The Cardinals won both Baker games 116-75 and 180-80 which gave a totals win of 296-155. All five girls contributed to the win. Violet Waltke had a 213, Rilee Cooper-Lewis rolled a 193, Emalyn Shidler had a 172, Annabelle Kling had a 170 and Dezirae Kling had a 171.
COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater bowlers welcomed Parma Western to Midway Lanes on Senior Recognition Night on Tuesday and won both matches by scores of 25-5 for the boys and 30-0 for the girls.
The Coldwater boys took control from the opening ball. Coldwaters Seniors Kai Kinsey and Dayten Yearling led the way with Kinsey shooting a 215 and Yearling with a 201. All five bowlers shot big scores. Chase Rubley had a 215, Austin Johnson rolled a 204 and Chance Cook had a 196. Coldwater won both Regular games 955-770 and 904-741, taking totals 1859-1511. They split the Baker games, winning game 1 203-188, losing game two 138-131, but taking totals 334-326.
BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Coldwater High School Bowling teams opened their season with wins over Jackson Lumen Christi on Tuesday afternoon at Jax 60 in Jackson. Coldwater the boys meet 28-2. Austin Johnson led the way with a 211 game and 388 two game series total.
The boys swept the regular games 826 to 709 and 927 to 755, taking total 1753-1464, also taking both baker games 197 to 187 and 158 to 124
The young Coldwater girls varsity team started strong as they posted a 29-1 victory. The girls were led by Annabelle Kling with a 168 game. The team took both regular games 719 to 524 and 702 to 515 and totals of 1421 to 1039. Coldwater outscored Lumen in the Baker games 139 to 103 and 149 to 135 for a total of 288 to 238.
