Noida: An assistant commissioner with the GST department in Delhi and his parents have been arrested for alleged torture and dowry-related death of his wife in Noida. Aman Singla, the Indian Revenue Service officer, took Rs 2.5 crore as dowry from the family of the woman he married five months back, police said.
Aman’s wife Hina allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in her parents-in-law’s flat at Supreme Towers in Sector 99 on Wednesday afternoon. The 26-year-old was admitted to a private hospital but died later that day. She was a chartered accountant and also pursuing law from Panjab University.

Noida police, commandos hold mock-drill at metro station

New Delhi, Mar 11: Noida Police along with specially-trained commandos carried out a mock drill at a metro station here on Wednesday evening, ahead of festivals, officials said.
The drill, held at the Sector 51 Metro Station, was carried out to review security forces preparedness for emergency situations, they said. The objective of today s mock drill was to check the security forces in practice to respond to any emergency situation. This drill was conducted with the help of the PAC and involved the Pinaka commandos of the district police who have been trained in Neemuch, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Noida 1) Ankita Sharma said.
