J&K Government signing historic MoUs with PARC- Policy Advocacy Research Centre on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. In presence of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, the MoUs were signed between Navin Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers’ welfare; Ankita Kar, Managing Director, J&K Trade Promotion Organization and Kiran Shelar, Director, PARC. The Lt Governor, in his address, observed that the J&K Government, through dynamic economic reforms, is creating a conducive ecosystem for investment, building collaboration, and partnerships to explore new markets and align potential investors for the UT, besides supporting socio-economic development, local opportunities for employment and bringing stakeholders to a common goal of sustainable growth in J&K.

Apr 23, 2021 During the session “”Advantage J&K – Opportunities for IT & ITES Sector”, Ankita Kar, Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization & Jammu and Kashmir IT Infrastructure Development Company shared strengths of the region and Government support to incentivize the investors and business enterprises. She highlighted the benefits of promoting IT/ITES sector in terms of tax , financial support and advantages of having skilled manpower in the region. Regarding promoting women entrepreneurs, Kar said that IT Parks shall be 15 per cent reserved for women entrepreneurs. Ankita Kar said, “The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is working in tandem with Government of India to promote startup culture and encourage women entrepreneurs. As a women I always feel safe in Jammu and Kashmir and would invite women to set up their businesses in this region.”

The virtual session was organized by JKTPO in partnership with Invest India. The agenda was to understand and explain the objective, execution strategy and the authenticity concerns of the ODOP products from Jammu and Kashmir.
