Being born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, could make it seem as if a job in country music is a given.
Not so for Mitchell Tenpenny.
“I thought I was going to play football,” Tenpenny said by phone during a break from a songwriting session. “Once I got to college, I was over that. I didn’t really have a Plan B. But things kept happening (with music) until it became a job.”
