Where to Get a Copy of Her New Book
Words sound more like music when they come from Morgan Harper Nichols s pen. She writes beautiful, inspiring poems for her 1.7 million Instagram followers and countless others who ve picked up her bestselling first book,
How Far You Have Come, was written during the COVID-19 pandemic and was released on April 27.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Nichols currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband Patrick and their son Jacob. Prior to focusing on her art and poetry, Nichols spent years as a college admissions counselor and later as a full-time touring singer-songwriter and musician. Her artwork is inspired by real connections, as she invites people to submit their stories to her, then she creates a special piece of art and sends it back to them privately before sharing it. This unique, personal way to engage with fans and lift people up at the same time is what sets Nichols apart and makes her work so special.

February is Black History Month in the United States and Canada, but Black women deserve to be celebrated, followed, and listened to well beyond February. Though many may make a concerted effort to learn during Black History Month, that effort should be an all the time thing, not just a one month of the year thing. There are so many women that we should all know far more about, so we’ve pulled together a list of 17 Black women that are making change today. From the first Black vice president of the United States (you didn’t think we’d leave her out, did you?) to businesswomen, journalists, activists, and more, these are women who we should all learn plenty about before reading about them later on down the line.
