Highlights The diaspora accused Pakistan of trying to create a wedge between Pakistani and European Sikhs ISLAMABAD: Sikh diaspora has condemned Pakistan’s machination of defaming the Sikh community and trying to create a wedge between Pakistani and European Sikhs by projecting a Muslim man in the guise of a Sikh and inciting them to give a befitting reply to French people for allegedly publishing a caricature of Prophet Muhammad.   In a video message uploaded on social media, a sky blue turban-wearing person supporting a beard introduces himself as ‘Sardar Ji while greeting both Aslamu alaikum and Sasriakar. The Sikh look-alike person who is identified as Sardar Qasam Dogar Singh in Pakistan raises a slogan of “Gustakh e rasool ki eik hi saza , sar dar say juda (only punishment for blasphemy of Prophet is separating the head from the body). 

Jharkhand: All India Sikh Students Federation to host petrol loan mela till fuel price comes down

A Sikh outfit here has taken recourse to sarcasm to vent their anger against the Union government’s failure to control the price of petrol, which has touched Rs 91.15 per litre in the steel city. The All India Sikh Students Federation’s (AISSF) Jharkhand-Bihar unit has decided to host petrol loan mela every Sunday across Jharkhand till the price of the fuel comes down. The mela was inaugurated near the Sakchi gurdwara in Jamshedpur on Sunday. “Through such initiatives, we just want to show the mirror to the Union government on its failure to tackle the spiraling fuel prices. We organised a petrol loan mela at Jamshedpur on Sunday wherein customers could purchase petrol in easy instalments at zero per cent interest as is done for expensive home appliances and other costly branded items. This is aimed at highlighting how precious petrol has become for people so that they are forced to buy it on loan. The AISSF units will also host similar petrol loan melas in other major citie

Steel City Sikh groups rue tepid response from other communities, ask them to join protest | Ranchi News

Jamshedpur: Leaders of the Sikh community in Steel City have appealed to the members of the other communities to join their protest against the farm laws passed by the Union government. “Farmers don’t belong to any particular community and all of us should stand with them at a time when their future is at stake,” Jharkhand State Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (JSGPC) president Shailendra Singh said on Tuesday. Appealing to the members of other communities to join their stir, the JSGPC functionary said they have invited prominent citizens across communities to participate in the special prayers to be organised at the Sakchi gurdwara on Friday.
