Kolkata: The temperature dropped to this season’s lowest in the city yesterday when the minimum temperature fell to 11.4 degrees, four marks below normal on the Celsius scale.
The cold spell will stay, according to the Met office. The northwesterly wind is still coming in a good pace. G.K. Das, director of Regional Meteorological Centre in the city told the Times of India, “But we expect it to retard its speed. The mercury dipping any further is unlikely for now. But the cold spell will continue.”
