uAvionix adds AV-Link Wi-Fi bridge to panel 11th May 2021 9:00 Europe/London Avionics company uAvionix has launched a new product called AV-Link. It’s a Wi-Fi bridge for the AV-30 electronic panel display. AV-Link adds a bunch of new features to the AV-30 including live airborne traffic from a supported ADS-B receiver. It also provides the ability to wirelessly update AV-30’s firmware. Importantly, AV-Link opens up the AV-30 to future functionality and connectivity with other wireless-enabled avionics in the cockpit. With AV-Link, pilots have the ability to wirelessly connect a supported ADS-B Receiver, such as ForeFlight Sentry or Sentry Mini, echoUAT, SkyEcho, skySensor, or any standard GDL90 Wi-Fi protocol portable ADS-B receiver with GPS to AV-30 and see live ADS-B traffic displayed in the panel.

uAvionix Brings ADS-B Traffic to Some AV-30 Users

AV-Link will allow for updates to the AV-30 to be handled wirelessly. The new traffic display on the AV-30 can be toggled on and off from the instrument panel. uAvionix With the just-announced addition of uAvionix’s new AV-Link to its AV-30 14-plus-feature digital EFIS, owners of experimental category aircraft will be able to view ADS-B traffic in the cockpit. The company says the current AV-Link version for experimental aircraft is just the first step toward bringing ADS-B traffic to all AV-30 displays for certified aircraft, expected to be available later this year. In a news release, uAvionix said, “With AV-Link, pilots have the ability to wirelessly connect the AV-30 to a supported ADS-B receiver, such as ForeFlight Sentry or Sentry Mini, echoUAT, skyEcho, skySensor or any standard GDL90 Wi-Fi-protocol portable ADS-B receiver with GPS.
